I'm not sure who came up with the saying that Monies is the Root of all Evil, but I'd be willing to to bet that they had a bad experience with money, so much so that they lost perspective on reality.
So let's get on the right track. Money is not the root of all evil. Money is a necessary economic factor for our survival and is, in fact, a major factor in successful relationships.
Let me explain about the relationships. I have been a divorce lawyer for 9 years and at least 50% of the marital relationships I have helped to separate have been over the years have resulted from financial difficulties. So let's jump to another saying "Love can't buy happiness".
Zig Ziglar has a great saying I've heard before. It goes like this . . No, love can't buy happiness but it sure ranks right up there with oxygen. Zig wasn't too far off. Look at today's society. Money is attached to everything. If you want a roof over your hear you need to pay a landlord rent or you need to buy a place to live. Well, you can't pay for those things with Monopoly money so you'd better have some of the real thing . . . i.e. Money . . . hanging around.
How are you going to eat every day? Unless you work for all your food or grow your own food then you'd better be prepared to pay for at least some of your food with money? Do you need transportation to work? Unless you are going to walk everywhere then you'll need money for the bus, a taxi, your car, or to buy a bicycle for transportation? If you need to walk everywhere you're even going to need money to buy new shoes or sneakers.
When you or your children get sick, what are you going to do about medical care or medicines? The days of trading a pig or a chicken for medical treatment or medicine are pretty much gone in the United States these days. You need, ... yes, I'll say it . . .money! In divorces, many marriages fall apart because one spouse doesn't want to work to better the family's financial position, help with the children's education, or contribute to the couple's retirement.
While money doesn't buy happiness, the lack of money causes tremendous stress in relationships, prevents you from venturing into businesses of your own and slows down your ability to provide for your golden years. Money is necessary! The more money you have, the more choices you have. The more money you have less pressures you have about meeting bills that everyone faces, rents and mortgages, heat, electricity, schooling, books, daycare, child support, clothing, telephones and more.
The more money you have the more opportunity you have to give to others, contribute to the world condition and help others who don't have money. If you have the underlying belief that Money is, in fact, the Root of all Evil and you truly believe that, then here is what I suggest. Leave this website at high speed because it is NOT for you! I suggest this because you are not being realistic in today's modern society.
If you want to be a Grizzly Adams mountain man and live off the land, kill animals for food, grow your own fruits and vegetables and live within nature, then more power to you. Each to his own I suppose, but at the rate of deforestation in the world, we can't all do that. It just isn't possible. We can agree to disagree on the money theory of life. Overall, people need money to survive.
Money is not a root of anything. It is a necessity of survival for just about everyone in the United States and many other countries to have money to live in the human condition of the world as it stands today.
If you see the frustrations of the lack of money and you've felt those pressures, then subscribe to this website. We have much more to come about how to overcome those money pressures, how to produce greater personal success in your life, how to prepare for your retirement, and how to achieve financial success in your life for your own financial freedom to allow you to enjoy life.
